Sons Of Light

But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light,

for whatever makes manifest is light. - Eph. 5:11, 13

Sons Of Light, members of the Body of Christ, are men who,

through the conduct of our daily lives foremost

and the content of our spoken and written words in support,

demonstrate that we believe that:

There is only one GOD, the Creator of the universe,

the Father of Lights,

..whose errant (sinful) sons we are by the act of original sin

and our own willful disobedience;

GOD sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth

to offer us the gift of absolution of all sin,

inherited and committed by us

by dying on the cross,

in payment for our sin,

in obedience to GOD the Father,

..as an act of Divine Love and Grace;

Jesus Christ's resurrection from death was the

demonstration by GOD of His final and complete victory

over sin and death;

The Holy Spirit is the presence of GOD on earth,

..Who, through the will of GOD, the Father,

..allows us to understand the Truth and meaning of GOD's law

and Jesus Christ's life, death and resurrection,

..which is recorded in the bible,

which is the Word of GOD;

The new and present covenant between GOD and Man is written

in the four gospels of the New Testament,

..in the recorded, spoken Words of Jesus Christ,

..as the ultimate and final authority of His and GOD's

instructions for us,

..the understanding and interpretation of which is achieved through

the presence of the Holy Spirit in us,

..which presence is evidenced by our conduct and speech,

..but, if contradictory, by our conduct alone;

We are redeemed of our sins to eternal life with GOD

..by being born again by and through the power and the presence

of the Holy Spirit in us,

..and making the open declaration and declaration of our

everyday life in Christ,

that through Him and His blood we are forgiven all sins,

..and demonstrate our belief through obedience to His Word

and repentance for our acts of disobedience (sin);

The true church of Jesus Christ is the Body of Christ, whose

members may belong to many Christian denominations, or none;

Worship of GOD is mainly done through our daily conduct,

as well as by individual or communal exaltation of Him

through various acts of spoken word, song or other creative gifts

given to us by GOD;

The Body of Christ has no mandatory requirements for:

insignia, physical symbols, a church hierarchy or priesthood,

church legalisms, church attendance, public prayer,

certain social status of individual believers,

physical well-being of individual believers,

a particular gender or race,

intellect, wealth, poverty, eloquence of speech, speech,

tithing or other overt acts of donating money,

acts on behalf of humanity,

speaking 'in tongues',

ritual or ceremonies (except simple acts of adoration and worship of GOD,

baptism, fasting, the 'laying on of hands' and

the taking of bread and wine in remembrance of Him),

acts of penitence, eating habits and rituals

(except avoidance of unnatural food or excess),

drinking habits and rituals

(except avoidance of unnatural drink or excess leading to drunkenness),

sexual habits and rituals (except avoidance of those that are

unnatural or expressly forbidden by GOD),

physical activity or rituals

(except avoidance of those clearly abusive or destructive to the body -

which is the temple of the Holy Spirit),

any particular standard of dress, appearance or social manners,

..but to fill our thoughts with GOD in humility,

to maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ

and to trust in Him with all our heart,

in every detail of our lives;

Jesus Christ's return is imminent;

 We, as the Sons of Light, are dedicated to declare the Truth

openly, fearlessly, publicly and joyfully,

..living daily in the Light of GOD's Truth,

which is to love GOD first and to love all men,

as Jesus Christ loves us,

..seeking to bring men out of the darkness and into the marvelous Light

of His Love and Grace,

..which, after learning the Truth, requires an act of will and

obedience to His Word;

 In our daily pursuit of Him, His Truth and His Light,

..with the help of the Holy Spirit,

..as He has commanded,

..we dedicate our lives to Him and

are prepared to pay any price, small or great, unto death,

..in accordance with GOD's will,

..remembering that He has paid the greatest price for us,

..until we meet Him in the air or are called to Him.

our Lord Jesus Christ,

the Holy Spirit, and

Almighty GOD, our Father.

T H E    L I F E
 

If God has called you to really be like Jesus in all your spirit,
He will draw you into a life of crucifixion and humility,
and put on you such demands of obedience,
that He will not allow you to follow other Christians,
and in many ways He will seem to let other good people
do things which He will not let you do.

Other Christians and ministers who seem very religious and useful
may push themselves, pull wires, and work schemes
to carry out their plans, but you can not do it;
and if you attempt it, you will meet with such failure
and rebuke from the Lord as to make you sorely penitent.

Others can brag on themselves,
on their work, on their success, on their writings,
but the Holy Spirit will not allow you to do any such thing,
and if you begin it, He will lead you into some deep mortification
that will make you despise yourself and all your good works.

Others will be allowed to succeed in making great sums of money,
or having a legacy left to them, or in having luxuries,
but God may supply you daily,
because He wants you to have something far better than gold,
and that is a helpless dependence on Him,
that He may have the privilege of providing your needs day by day
out of the unseen treasury.

The Lord may let others be honored, and put forward,
and keep you hid away in obscurity,
because He wants to produce some choice, fragrant fruit
for His coming glory,
which can only be produced in the shade.

God will let others be great, but keep you small,
He will let others do work for Him and get the credit for it,
but He will make you work for Him, and toil on
without knowing how much you are doing; and then
to make your work still more precious, He will let others
get the credit for the work which you have done,
and this will make your reward ten times greater
when Jesus comes.

The Holy Spirit will put a strict watch on you,
with a jealous love, and will rebuke you
for little words and feelings or for wasting your time,
which other Christians never seemed distressed over.

So make up your mind that God is an Infinite Sovereign,
and has a right to do as he pleases with his own,
and He will not explain to you a thousand things
which may puzzle your reason in His dealings with you.

God will take you at your word; and if you absolutely
sell yourself to be His slave,
He will wrap you up in a jealous love,
and let other people say and do many things
that you cannot do or say.

Settle it forever, that you are to deal directly with the Holy Spirit,
and that He is to have the privilege of
tying your tongue, or
chaining your hand, or
closing your eyes,
in ways that others are not dealt with.

Now when you are so possessed with the living God
that you are, in your secret heart, pleased and delighted
over His peculiar, personal, private, jealous guardianship
and management of the Holy Spirit over your life,
you will have found the vestibule of heaven.
